LEJ expands disability practice with new Disabilty Law Section

Lawyers for Equal Justice (LEJ) is a Hawai'i non-profit corporation made up of lawyers who are committed to helping individuals gain access to the resources, services and fair treatment they need to accomplish self-sufficiency and economic security. Medical costs and individual disabilities leading to unemployment or under-employment are some of the leading causes of bankruptcy and poverty.

For that reason, LEJ launched its Disability Law section to assist disabled individuals in obtaining the federal benefits they so desperately need to ensure that they have access to regular medical care and money for living expenses.

LEJ provides representation in appeals of adverse decisions of the Veteran's Association and the Social Security Administration, including
  • Veterans Service-Connected Disability Compensation
  • Veterans Non Service-Connected Disability Pension
  • Social Security Disability
  • and Supplemental Security Income.
